Eating at Panda Express

At first I wondered if my wife was pregnant again. Its not like her to want to go eat at the mall. To help her satiate her craving for a cheese on a stick and a corn dog we rushed off to South Towne Mall.

I myself had been craving chinese food all week, so I went to the Panda Express. I have been trying to eat a lot healthier in 2010 so when I saw their wall of fresh cut veggies, I thought I had found a winner.

I ordered the brocolli beef, the orange chicken and the lo mein noodles. Boy was I sorely mistaken with ths selection. Everything tasted like it was soaked in greasy. It was super oily tasting, but with the texture or consistency or motor oil.

The food was not good and I know had to eat crappy food and live with the regret of eating this bad food. When did their food get bad? Maybe my taste buds have changed or maybe their food has always been lousy. (shrugged shoulders)

Well I won’t be eating there anymore. Salt Lake please tell me where I can find some good chinese food? I would like to go eat there and also list them on www.saltlakerestaurant.com.  Hit me up with your comments on Panda Express and also on where I can go get some awesome chinese food.

  1. There are two very good Chinese restuarants in my area. The first is Joy Luck, and it’s on State Street and about 10800 South in Sandy. It has the best egg drop soup and ham fried rice. It’s rarely super busy, and the ambiance is great.

The 2nd Chinese restuarant is called Janbos. It’s on 123rd South and about 1250 East in Draper, right by where Rite Aid used to be. They have the best Chinese take-out food. It’s a tiny restuarant, but it has the best food. They have amazing prices, and give you a ton of food. My favorite is their Orange Chicken, but their Pon Pon Chicken and their Vegetable Medley are delicious too. I also love their cream cheese wontons–yummy! Since they give you so much food in one entree, I always have leftovers. The great thing about Janbos is that their food tastes just as great the next day.

Definitely check out these two Chinese restuarants! You won’t regret it!

  2. Our favorite place is David’s Kitchen in South Salt Lake at 33rd South and 45 West. They have killer potstickers!

Looking at a newer post, I am glad you are for real! I won a certificate for a large pizza from Mountain Mike’s, used it on “The Everest,” their specialty, and our family enjoyed every bite! THANKS!

  3. I LOVE Chinese food, as does the rest of my family. Our favorite place (by far) is a little place called Mountain City. It is on Holladay Blvd just south of 4700, so it is a bit of a pain to get to with construction right now, but it is so good it is worth it. We live in Taylorsville and pass about 20 other places to get there…
I love their sweet and sour sauce- it is light in color and flavor with just enough tang to make it good. The hawaiian fried rice is always a hit with my kids too, and with a 4 year old and 2 year old twins, that is saying something :)
It is not fancy by any means, but it is run by a really sweet lady that will bend over backwards to make sure you’re happy with your food.
